Hydri unites Qarlbo Energy’s hydrogen-focused subsidiaries to accelerate the energy transition in hard-to-abate sectors.
A Unified Brand for Hydrogen Solutions
Qarlbo Energy has announced that its subsidiary, Nilsson Energy, will now operate under the Hydri brand, signaling a stronger focus on the company’s hydrogen initiatives. With this change, the Nilsson Energy brand will be retired, and all of Qarlbo Energy’s hydrogen-centered companies will now fall under Hydri, encompassing two main divisions: Hydri Solutions and Hydri Infrastructure.
Hydri Solutions offers comprehensive services including consultation, design, and the implementation of turnkey energy systems powered by green hydrogen. In addition, the business unit provides ongoing operation and maintenance services to ensure these systems run efficiently throughout their lifecycle. On the other hand, Hydri Infrastructure is committed to establishing a nationwide network of hydrogen refueling stations, ensuring that green hydrogen is readily accessible across Sweden.
Addressing Hard-to-Abate Sectors
The transition to renewable energy is progressing, but many sectors face significant challenges. These so-called “hard-to-abate” industries, such as transportation, steel, and chemicals, are difficult to electrify due to their high energy consumption. Without addressing these sectors, the goal of reaching net-zero emissions will remain elusive.
Hydrogen, particularly green hydrogen, offers a carbon-neutral solution for these energy-intensive industries. However, for green hydrogen to play a significant role, a robust market and infrastructure are needed to support its adoption. This is where Hydri steps in, offering a complete ecosystem that integrates both solutions and infrastructure, allowing industries to access the tools and resources they need for a seamless transition.
Paving the Way for Green Hydrogen
By bringing its hydrogen-focused subsidiaries together under the Hydri brand, Qarlbo Energy aims to take a leadership role in creating the market for green hydrogen. “To make the energy transition happen, someone needs to lead the way and take a holistic approach to building a market for green hydrogen. Both infrastructure and a full range of hydrogen solutions are needed. We provide all of these through Hydri, and from now on, our hydrogen-focused portfolio companies will be united under the Hydri brand, clearly reflecting our comprehensive offering in the market,” says Michel Thomas, CEO of Qarlbo Energy.
The move to unite its hydrogen initiatives under Hydri reflects Qarlbo Energy’s broader mission to transform the energy landscape. Together, Hydri Solutions and Hydri Infrastructure form a complete and integrated offering, designed to simplify the adoption of green hydrogen and help industries meet the challenges of decarbonization.
With a clear strategy and a comprehensive offering, Hydri is set to lead the way in making hydrogen a viable, sustainable energy solution across a range of industries, ensuring that the green transition can reach even the most challenging sectors.
